2010 is tipped to be the year of the tablet by many industry commentators. In early January 2010 Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, previewed a new 10 inch HP tablet running Windows 7 with a touch screen and virtual keyboard . However, much excitement surrounds the launch by Apple of a tablet product the I-Pad in Q1 2010 with units arriving in late Q1 / early Q2.
The HP Microsoft product is scheduled for a mid-year launch, which would lag behind the expected shipment dates for a potential Apple product.
